The Signal: EP084
March 9th, 2012
The Signal: EP084 - More powerful than a robot's immobilizing beam! Starting off your weekend right! Boom biff pow! Sound effects!
Anyone who knows that signalstation.com exists already knows this, but let's go through it anyway. I put these mixes up for a limited time only. And though it keeps anyone new from taking a chance on them, I don't list the contents on this site. You have to take a chance, then read the id3 tags for the playlist. I tend to put some notes down below, if I have any.
I think that about covers it.
The Signal: EP083
February 20th, 2012
The Signal: EP083 - Stung in the face by love! We're celebrating Presidents Day by celebrating Valentine's Day by celebrating the horrors of super science! With music!
It's the usual 45 minutes of whatever I'm finding interesting (or some things I have historically found interesting) or something that fit the 2-minute-20-seconds gap I had in my master plan for the mix. (Okay, there's only one of that third bit on the list, to be honest.)
The file is up for a limited amount of time. Notes (if any) are below the cut. Tracklist is in the id3 tags. We got some rock, some stuff with beats, some hip-hop, something going backwards, a theme song, and a scary computer voice. That's pretty much all you need, right?
The Signal: EP082
December 31st, 2011
The Signal: EP082 - You may have noticed that the increasingly rarely used signalstation.com domain has shifted around a bit. Now that most of my blogging occurs over at my Google+ account, this domain is just becoming a repository for the occasional music mixes I make for our amusement. Speaking of which, here's a new one, just in time for 2012.
The file is only available for a limited time, track listing is in the id3 tags, notes are below. Hey, maybe this will be the year when the Y2K problem finally hits! Does everyone have their survival kits ready?
The Signal: EP081
November 13th, 2011
The Signal: EP081 - It's the one that comes after #80! We all sort of suspected it was coming, and that this is what he would be called, so now we can all feel smug about having "called it", as if anyone would be impressed. Oh, just get over yourselves, with your I-know-how-numbers-go attitude.
Tunes, tunes, tunes, all in a row. Up for a limited time only for a limited audience that may very well include you. Who knows? If you want to know what's on it, downloading is pretty much your only choice. It's like I'm not even seeking out listeners, right? Anyway, if you download, the track list is in the id3 tags. Also, below you'll find some notes that won't be illuminating when it comes to artist names, but maybe they'll be worth reading. I haven't written them yet, so I can't say.
Onward, into the unknowable future!
The Signal: EP080
September 17th, 2011
The Signal: EP080 - Sounds made rhythmically, for the most part, sometimes with bent wood, sometimes with manufactured materials. You could listen to it, if you like, so long as you know how to manage such things. But you made it to this page, so that indicates a certain level of technological skill. Keep it up!
Usual deal applies. The file is up for a limited period of time. I've put the track listing in the id3 tags. The sounds are eclectic, so you'll get some pop, some blues, some international sounds, some towering guitars of doom, some beats and blips... a demonstration of a catholicity of taste.
