The mighty mighty Stones Throw label, with financial backing from the Boston-terrifying Adult Swim crew, bring a whole album of hip hop and assorted sounds to you for FREE in Chrome Children vol. 2.
If I were a hip hop-loving cowboy, this news would make me slap my raised knee with my dusty 10 gallon hat and I'd be moved to shout a whooping "Yee haw!"

February 17th, 2007Link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jtjtjf

The Signal EP025: mostly indie rock this time out, chock-full of heart-breaking beauty that, if you're too self-conscious about celebrating, you can celebrate from behind the mask of your choice.
If you have any masks in your closet from Halloween, here's a chance to get some more use out of them. Strap 'em on, then you can grin like a loon to your heart's content behind them during our recent episode.
As always, I'm hiding the tracklist and notes behind the MORE link.
Reggie Watts: Out of Control
February 10th, 2007Link: http://www.vimeo.com/clip:134034
Stolen from Cracked.com comes this video of a musician using a sampler to loop all the music he needs to create a song, much like you may have seen from beatboxer Kid Beyond or soul artist Jamie Lidell.
Hooray for a future full of bedroom rockers and their desktop technology! Hooray for Reggie Watts!

February 4th, 2007
A Study in High Fidelity Sound: One of America's greatest living harmonica players, now forgotten by time, lives again through the magic of digitized vinyl.
He was 4' 6" of harmonica magic and on this album, you will hear an all harmonica or mouth organ group taking on some standards.
