New Van Damme Film Looks Promising
In other news, scientists have gene-spliced on to pigs the traits that will allow them to grow wings and fly.
Seriously, I would not be surprised. Part one is taken care of, now it's up to the pigs to do their part, 'cause I'm stunned. There's a Van Damme flick I want to see.
It's called J.C.V.D. and as the website Twitch describes it, it's like seeing a Van Damme movie penned by Charles Kaufman, if the excerpt is anything to go by. In it, Van Damme (playing himself) finds out a film-making crew is going to make a slightly fictionalized version of his life, so he goes to try out for the part.
Am I alone in thinking this could be great?
Dark Horse Comics: Free on (sigh) MySpace
Say, want to read some nice, free, self-contained comics online? Dark Horse Comics has a promotional wing set up on MySpace. No need to flinch. Because an actual company's behind it, it's not an eye-gouging monstrosity like most user-generated MySpace pages are.

Sugarshock by Joss Whedon
The Goon
and 3/4 of the current "issue," Number 7, especially "Jared." (Rex Mundi is just two pages and skippable.)
Never Not Funny w/ Maria Bamford
One of our favorite comedians, Maria Bamford, put in a guest appearance on Jimmy Pardo's free-form, edit-free comedy podcast Never Not Funny.
Not only do you get Maria, but Jimmy has finally come out from under the legal injunction he had about him being able to tell the story of the crazy New Year's Eve performance he had.
Preview: It features a very angry audience member that he describes as looking exactly like what you picture when you think of a circus strongman circa 1940. Bald head, moustache, muscular. And angry.
Comedy!
