The Signal: EP066 - replaced
April 27th, 2010
Hey all. I discovered today that the previously uploaded version of EP066 had broken id3 tags, so I've replaced the file. You can grab it at the same spot by either clicking on these words right here, or on the image above.
SORRY! OH WE'RE SO SORRY!
Music News to Me
January 21st, 2010I don't read music news weblogs, really, but I had a bit of time tonight and found a few interesting things.
Interesting thing no. 1 - Peter Gabriel covering The Arcade Fire. With full orchestra. This is powerful stuff.
Apparently, he's doing a whole album of covers (and there's great stuff on the track list, if you follow the above link) with the idea that some/all of the artists he's covering will return the favor on a later album.
Interesting thing no. 2 - The New Pornographers are working on a new album and they've got some great guests lined up, including the lead guy from Beirut and the lead lady from St. Vincent. So now there's something in May to look forward to.
The Signal: EP053
February 21st, 2009
The Signal: EP053 - Outer space is full of music. Let us put it in your head.
The usual: The track is available for a limited time for the small number of regulars who come here. Track listing is in the id3 tags, but notes are after the jump. If you want to know more about the source of any individual track so you can track it down on your own, let me know.
WFMU and the Election Today
November 4th, 2008Hey, looking for something to listen to while the votes are cast and counted? Why not give a listen to the odd emanations coming from WFMU and their special Electile Dysfunction '08 webcast?
REC'ed to the Top
June 22nd, 2008Hey, that's interesting. A recent recommendation that I wrote on Amie Street is featured on their front page today. I wrote a REC (as Amie Street lingo puts it) for Dani Siciliano's cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are."
