For the last week, we've been on vacation in Indiana. So most time has been spent relaxing as opposed to Tweet-punking or Facebookery, but there are a few things that have seen updates, if you're looking for something to do.

Flickr - Photos and one short film of a child impersonating a werewolf.

Formspring - All questions submitted to date have been answered. (Whether the site's instability will allow further use is unknown.)

YouTube - I favorited one whole video this last week. It's hilarious. But maybe I've favorited some other stuff you haven't seen yet.

Anyway. I have it on good authority that we might be heading out to Amish country today after returning some videos (Big Fan - pretty good! / 9 - not terribly good / Inglourious Basterds - pretty good!) so if anyone needs a giant wooden jam paddle or something, let me know via telepathy.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

We're back on the left coast and glad to be somewhere not humid, that is for sure. We have pictures, sure, but they'll need to be unpacked along with everything else.

Much thanks is due to Sally & Ace, for keeping the cats alive so that they can look at us like they've never met us upon our return. (They have since returned to their usual level of aloofness, punctuated with occasional visits.) Thanks as well to Mark & Mariaelena in DC for putting us up for a few days and feeding us amazing food, as well as the Warden for both a great lunch suggestion and a personal intro to the museum he's working at.

I would thank my parents as well for hosting, but they don't read this thing.

So yeah! Lots of driving, trains and flying in the last week, but we're back home and getting comfortable again. And I have a lot of new music to sift through. Hooray for the sneakernet. More updates soon, in all likelihood.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Man, we can't leave El Cerrito for a minute, can we? We're visiting my parents in Pennsylvania, and of course a few hours after we leave an earthquake hits, centered in our town. It's not even an earthquake that affects the whole bay... this one may have been under our apartment. Who knows.

We're out in a rural town west of Philadelphia and my parents have warned Amanda and I that if we walk under the pine trees, we might pick up ticks. So there's that. I'm looking forward to poking my head into the attic and seeing if I can find some childhood comics.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

The management of the El Cerrito theater is not doing well. After a city council meeting Monday, they sent out an announcement closing the theater for a week. If new management needs to come in, I hope they're quick, and cool.

[UPDATE: The theater is now closed indefinitely. I guess we can put our remaining gift certificate in a scrap book.]

Also: Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" turns 20 years old this year. One more year and it can drink.

And finally, from Ace, an amazing collaborative YouTube musical project: In B Flat. It's a wall of videos that you can start and stop as you like and no matter what, it forms an interesting cohesive whole.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

I don't have any brilliant ideas for a post, but I'm tired of looking at that old comic, so here you go.

I'm not working this week, so you'd think I would have time to update the ol' weblog... well, blame my so-called friends who got me an Xbox. Don't you people realize I have achievements to unlock? That's more important than your social networking and your fancy eating-food-at-regular-intervals.

So anyway. Over at YouTube I've got some new stuff favorited you probably haven't seen. Like a ventriloquist who doesn't speak, just gets verbally abused by his puppet. Or an infomercial redubbed with sound samples from Team Fortress 2's Scout character. Or an English comedian amusing himself by calling into a TV quiz show with the answer "Is it... Ghostbusters 2?", no matter what the question is.

I've started flagging things over at Vimeo that I thought were worth sharing, but there's not too much there yet. Good short documentary on some NYC graffiti groups, my friend Emcee Child goofing off in London over cheap chicken, a Shepherd Fairey music video for N.A.S.A. (the band, not the government agency) and a fun Law & Order parody featuring work from NPR contributors.

So there's that.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

So there's that.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.
