Odd cover indeed. And yet, I feel the love, not least because this mix appeared so soon after the last. It's a Saturnalia miracle!

Another triumph! I liked this one a lot, as usual. Mostly it reminded me of that feeling I get when I'm out in the world but instead of feeling nervy I feel strong and powerful and people get the eff out of my way.

3. It reminds me of something, some feeling, some experience, but I can't put a name to it. It's a gooder, though.
4. Awesome cover, baby. I love it and love it!
5. I don't love it, but it did make me laugh.
7. This sounds European to me somehow, which is weird, since, you know. These cats are not European.
8. I like this because it would be awful if it were set to different music. That's amazing.
13. I don't have anything useful to say about this one, but I like it a lot.

1. The original version (which I've only heard a small excerpt of) is not very dubby at all. This remix is great, but it makes me more curious about the remixer than the original artist.
7. This song does put a big smile on my face. Though its lessons should not be applied to real life. Much less cute then.
9. Funky Town is just outside of Bangkok. Bus rides daily.
This outing I went with four cover songs, which is more than usual, but you know... it's not a hard and fast rule.
Thanks for the feedback! It means a lot.

1. V. low-dub chill sessions or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays. <3
5. Sounds like the kind of music that was always playing in the club in those old Spider-Man cartoons. I may be misremembering that, but I don't mind.
6. Reminds me of an old Beatles song, but without the vocals. One of the Paul McCartney ones.
7. Just fantastic.
9. There is a new best thing ever, and this is it.
14. Sounds like the soundtrack for a sex scene in a movie that never got as much affection as it deserved.
15. That's quite sweet. I mean I know it's a cover and all, I know This Unnamed Band can't take all the credit, but yeah. It's quite sweet.

I've liked Coldplay since they "arrived." Then it became uncool to like Coldplay, and so I took my affection underground. When I mock them, I mock... myself.
It's way existential.
On a more relevant note, this mix bends the rules of space/time, in such a way that it seems you could listen to it in its entirety just once while driving your convertible through the American Southwest--long a fantasy of mine.

Yeah, an all-covers anything doesn't sound like a good idea. Would be like ending up in some parallel dimension that's only slightly off from what you know.
I'm glad some of the tracks made an impression! That's awesome.

Eeuw, forget it! I tried it and it was awful. Covers are not meant to be consumed in large doses, baby. Not by me, anyhow.

Track 2 reminds me of the last days of my misspent youth--but in a good way! That, and some of the Bronze scenes from "Buffy," which is is also meant in a good way.
Track 4 for me is one of those songs where when it first comes on, I'm not bothered, but it gets better and better as it goes along, till I'm all, "Fuck yeah!" Layering of sounds, is what I'm trying to say.
Every time I thought I knew what sort of song track 7 was, it turned into something else. Track 7 is AWESOME.
Track 11: As Morpheus over-enunciated in "The Matrix," I know... what. you. mean.
Track 13: I can dig it. Also, have you ever listened to the all-covers station on SomaFM? I thought about it, but I'm afraid. Although in fairness, SomaFM in general has never let me down.

I don't like skunk funk, but I do like skunks. They come into our yard sometimes, and since we're on the ground floor and slightly subterranean, I have a pretty good view of their shenanigans.
They remind me of little old men who are just trying to get through their day despite all this newfangled technology that we don't even need since what we had before worked just fine.
Plus they can really pack away the bugs. I once watched a skunk chow down on bugs for twenty minutes. I stopped watching when *I* got bored.
(Perhaps I will have something more valuable to say when I have actually listened to the mix.)

Not every reinterpretation is great, and not every great song is a reinterpretation, is my take on your dilemma.
This time, Pan and I especially liked the balls-out track from early in the mix, the reggae track from somewhere in the middle, and the one from teh Yootoobz.

I listened to it superloud at work, and did not care for any man's opinion of my misbehaviour!

You gotta front load a mix with the best stuff, right? I've picked up a few tricks along the way to making 65 of these things.
Hooray for demolishment!

What is it with you and your track 2 shenanigans? As with last time, I was blown away.
(I have only begun to listen to this, though, so I may yet be further demolished. Probably this is so.)

Jesus man. You are like John Updike with these things. Prolific. Prolific, I say!

You had me until the end. Now I feel like I'm going to live my twilight years in Blade Runner. Punk.
Can you remind me which mix contains the whistling Ghanaian stamp dudes? I loved that and would like to cogg it again.
Next show should be a Durian-themed meta-narrative about elephants and antacids. Nothing complex, just a minimalist thing. Get on it!

This is really incredible. Found it when godownmatthew posted a link to your site on his blog. Your id3 tags are cutting off for me in iTunes (cuts off halfway through 5) on the track listing. Any way you could send it my way?

Thanks! I think one of my favorite elements of making these mixes is that they give me an opportunity to use the images I download & collect during my internet wanderings.
