The Signal: EP066

April 7th, 2010

The Signal: EP066 - Wild horses couldn't tear me away, I think. They haven't tried. But I wouldn't trust a wild horse on any count. Wild, they are.

Okay, party people, it's a new Signal mix. 45 minutes of stuff for the merry (tiny) band of people who know this website of mine exists and have put up with its rare updates, its non-working links, etc. etc. Its unnecessary duplicated et ceteras.

The post is up for a limited time. Track listing is in the id3 tag. Notes are after the jump. I had a good time putting this one together. I hope it shows. Thanks to those who've been supportive. It's a great feeling to know that these get listened to by more than just me.

Jonsi: Go - Streaming at NPR

April 5th, 2010

There's only one more day to listen, but if you see this in time, you might want to listen to the new album by Jonsi, of Sigur Ros. The album is called "Go," the first two tracks are exuberant and amazing pop music, production is by Nico Muhly (who's appeared on a Signal mix) and it's all streaming here if you're interested:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125217376

(I mention the first two tracks because I'm listening to it myself right now. It may very well stay this amazing the whole way through. But if not, at least it's two songs in a row that are gorgeous.)

The Signal: EP065

March 23rd, 2010

The Signal: EP065 - Songs of love, invisibility, and mosquitoes. Okay, maybe invisibility isn't prominent, but the other two are present.

Exciting news! Thanks to a new website called (in proper Web 2.0 style) Fiverr, I got hooked up with a professional voice actor named Art Carlson who supplied the podcast with an intro and outro bumper. I got the sound files this morning and was so eager to share them, I threw this mix together when I should have been sleeping. (Oh man, it's getting late. Tomorrow might hurt.) If you want to see what the world has to offer you for five bucks, check the site out.

Usual details apply. File is up for a limited time only. Track listing is in the id3 tags. This mix is a gift to you, the handful of friends who frequent this site. I hope you like it. Notes are below.

The Signal: EP064

March 13th, 2010

The Signal EP064

The Signal: EP064 - A selection of music not-exactly-guaranteed to lead to mind-controlled happiness and the absence of will, but take a shot and try it anyway. We got highs and lows, ladies and gentlemen, highs and lows. And a requisite cover version.

All the notes are after the jump. The file is available for a limited time only. Tracklist is in the id3 tags. The world keeps on turning.
